CURRENT WEIGHT: 267.0

NOTE: I'm still sticking closely to my very strict Atkins Induction diet and my weight has cumulatively over the past week and half gone up by one pound. I still think this is the PERFECT way for me to eat and will not be abandoning it at any point. But I am seriously considering trying something again I thought I'd NEVER do--the intermittent fast. Many of you have said you think I'm eating too many portions and calories (I disagree, but I'm listening to you), so why not implement a strategy that cuts out a day's worth of calories every other day? I'm not opposed to doing this again, although the last time I did it a couple of years ago I got so hungry that I chowed down on 30 ounces of prime rib steak (see my Wednesday menu entry)! But here I am thinking about it again just to see what might happen. I already have a reduced appetite from what I used to have, so this may be more suitable for me now than it was then. And what could it hurt since my weight seems stuck on stupid...er, I mean 265...right now. The good thing is I'm feeling healthy, stronger, and better than I have in a very long time physically. Now if I could just get my head to believe that I'll be okay. :) THANKS for all the encouraging comments and advice everyone!

There is NO WAY you are eating 2 many calories. I put your info (or as close as i could since i do not know all your stats) into the calorie needed per day calculator at about. com and here is what it says: At 6 feet 4 inches and 265LBs and at 35 yrs old and mod active you need 3666 calories a day just to maintain! If anything your not eating near enough! If the low carb rule of thumb is 10 to 12 X your body weight in calories to lose then you are not eating enough not 2 much!

THANKS J.! You were very close...I'm 6'3" tall, 265 pounds, 36 years old, and moderately active. I don't see how I could eat MORE than I do now since I'm eating to satiety. But I'm ready to keep doing what I have to do to get my weight down again.
