Hi Jimmy, you asked for comments so I have one I've meaning to make for a long time. Low-carb, from what I understand, is not all about meat and fat. It's MOSTLY about veggies. Most of your carbs in a day should be coming from veggies. I see very few veggies in your meals. Even at induction levels of 20 carbs a day, which should only be maintained for about 2 weeks, MOST carbs are supposed to come from veggies. I've been on Atkins (and I know not everyone is on Atkins) for about 2 years now, and my coaches are always saying how important the veggies are. I am eating up to 65 carbs a day now, and most of those carbs come from veggies, some from dairy, and the rest from incedentals like Stevia and fruit & nuts. Maybe you should add some (lots of) veggies to your meals?
Thanks Linda! While I agree low-carb veggies are a part of a low-carb lifestyle, I have purposely backed off on them to restrict carbs even more. Plus, I have to be in the mood for veggies and it goes in phases.
Lindart, some of us believe that veggies are way overrated. Meat and fat are healthy!
I just found this blog searching around for low-carb stuff. I am not a believer in drastically cutting carbs, but do see the way people in general eat way too many. I wish to lose about 20 pounds ( I'm female, 5'7", 160 lbs.) and have had success by easing down on the carbs. I was at 183 when I started (after my fifth baby, and getting up to 210 while pregnant. He was 9# 2 oz).
I am so excited to see a real person's food. I have purchased a few low-carb cookbooks. Your site will add some reality to the recipes. :)
GREAT to have you a part of my menus blog readership, MommaofMany! :D
