November 4, 2009 Low-Carb Menu

1:15PM
Pork tenderloin, green beans, sweet potato, and banana pudding
Diet Dr. Pepper

7:45PM
3 hamburger patties with cheese, tomato, pickle and mayo
Salad (lettuce, greens, tomato, cucumbers, cheese) with Ranch dressing
Diet Coke with lime
1/2 slice of peanut butter pie

NOTE: Wasn't a "perfect" low-carb day today, but everything I ate was my choice.

Jimmy, I noticed that you eat hamburger just about everyday. Is this just something familiar and you know you will lose weight or do you just love hamburger? This is my first week on low carb and I am down eight pounds! I am thrilled!

When I eat foods that are non-LC for more than a meal, it seems like I want more and more and more.... but if I only eat them occasionally, I do not have these cravings as badly.... Not nearly as badly.

What have you noticed about the occasional deviation? Just curious?

Excellent question, LCD! I haven't experienced any unnecessary cravings after eating a little "off-plan" from time to time and I think it can be attributed to the fact that I know my body and how much of something I can and cannot have. This helps me know my limits and I act accordingly.

To answer your question, it's a little of both. I LOVE hamburgers because they're a quick and easy way to get the fat and protein my body needs with very few carbohydrates. Plus, it's cheaper than buying steaks which I would be eating if I were a rich man. :D
