NOTE: Happy birthday to me! Yes, I was a Christmas baby and I didn't like it very much growing up as a kid. Here ya go, Jimmy, here's your ONE birthday present along with your Christmas presents (meanwhile, my brother Kevin and sister Beverly had birthdays in August and September respectively and got PLENTY of stuff--NO FAIR! LOL!). Now that I'm older, I kinda like having the birthday around Christmas because everyone's already celebrating the holiday season and in a good festive mood. Today I asked Christine if we could do something I've never done before.

Because my birthday fell on a Sunday, I wanted to go out to one of those sports bar places with TVs everywhere to watch the NFL football games in the second to last week of the regular season. And the place was packed out with fans of all sorts watching their teams. It was a hoot hearing the fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers get all happy when their team made a good play and then ruckus clapping from the Baltimore Ravens fans whenever their team was doing well. We sat in a spot where I could watch about six different games at one time and I LOVED IT!

Ordered some non-breaded chicken wings with a Parmesan cheese and garlic butter sauce that was divine. Christine loved the BBQ and I ate a few of hers. In the end, I consumed 30 of those bad boys and loved every bite. Christine also got herself a big slice of chocolate cake which I had a couple of bites of. I'll admit, it was good...but I wouldn't have been able to eat that whole thing if I wanted to. All in all, it was a great way to spend my 38th birthday and I had an awesome time. I wish everyday could be like this! :D

Jimmy, I love reading your menus everyday. They inspire me to eat healthy. I'm thinking of posting mine. Has posting your daily menus helped you to maintain healthy eating habits? And what are these cookies that you're eating? Sandy

THANKS Sandy! As you can see, I'm not always 100% perfect. But I am a big believer in transparency when you put yourself out there talking about weight loss and health. I think you'd find great benefit in doing it and it might help keep you accountable. I would be eating this way whether I posted my menus or not, but some people need that extra motivation. The sugar-free cookies are from a company that sent me some samples. They were okay, but I won't be blogging about them if that tells you anything. :)

I was born on Christmas Day so I understand disliking it as a kid. It has taken me years to actually start liking Christmas.

Happy Birthday, Jimmy! Glad you had a good time spending your day your way, even if everybody there didn't know your name. :-)

THANKS OnPoint! It was pretty hilarious being there with a bunch of strangers, but I had a great time. :)

I assure you Mr. Moore, it's totally from the respect I have for you and what you do and not your oh so tender age. (For the record, I'm already into my 40s.)

LOL! Oh I know, Haggus. I was just having some fun with you. My wife thinks I'm old already and she's always looking for the gray hairs in my head. :)
