NOTE: I went back to that local farm I recently found the other day in my area about 20 miles down the road from my house and saw they had some cream cheese available. Most people probably get Philadelphia Cream Cheese or some local store brand, but I wondered how freshly-made cream cheese would compare. OH...MY...GOSH! You haven't tried cream cheese until you get it made fresh from a local farm. And mixing it in with my eggs while they are cooking makes the eggs so creamy and tasty that you'll never want to eat 'em any other way again. Yes, I'm hooked and happily so!
Started to run low on my raw cheddar cheese today, so I used some mozzarella cheese Christine likes in some of my meals today since she's away in Virginia. Christine really likes to cook up the mozzarella in a skillet until it gets brown and eat it as a "cracker" snack. I must admit it's pretty tasty, although I prefer to have it oozing off the top of a medium-cooked grass-fed beef hamburger! Yep, I could eat that meal until it's coming out of my ears...and probably will.
It was not too hot today, so I decided to go outside to mow the grass this afternoon. The sun was shining and the temperature was in the lower 70s--PERFECT! Only one problem, though: the lawnmower wouldn't start. Checked the gas, spark plug, air filter, everything. It just wouldn't crank. I had someone take a look at it and it was gonna take at least a week to even LOOK at it much less diagnose what the problem was. And I had to put $100 down just for that to happen. So I decided it was probably time to go get me a new one--and so I did!
Went down to Sam's Club and got me a good push mower to tackle the weeds growing in my yard (very little grass grows, but the weeds have a life of their own!). I picked up some gas, filled up the oil and cranked her up. Started up right away! WOO HOO! About 15 minutes into mowing, I noticed the sky got rather black, the temperature dropped at least 20 degrees (I could see my breath blowing out), and little drops of rain started to fall. Oh great! It's about to be a Southern gulley-washer! Yes, it did rain a little harder, but never hard enough for me to stop mowing. Once the ground was wet, I had to slow down because the lawnmower kept stalling out on me and that wet grass was a bear. But I trudged through it as the skies cleared up and got the job done. Well, at least the front yard. I'll hit the backyard soon...it's a jungle back there!

It was amazing how the temperature dropped so quickly yesterday around here. Did you get hailed on too? I never saw any hail, but the news showed pics where it looked like snow!
I like to make my cheddar cheese crispy like crackers too...had some for lunch as a matter of fact!
I heard the hail was mainly on the East side of Spartanburg, but it sure got cold...me out there in my shorts and T-shirt mowing the grass! LOL!
Jimmy, how far apart timewise your last meal is before you hit the sack? Do you ever eat before going to bed? What you do if you ever find yourself hungry at night or you just suck it up and do not allow yourself to do that?
Jimmy, have you heard anything of the company called Interleukin Genetics? I first saw them on Dr Oz show few weeks ago. They are also featured in many studies and amany telvesion shows. They claim to ahve developed the test that conclusively tells you the best diet to follow based on your genetic markers. Even Dr Oz admitted that there are people based on this company genetic test that ought to be low carbers and consume less than 30 grams of carbs a day. This company was involved in famous Stanford reserch study and proved that people who follow their genetic profile fit diet are at least 30 % more efficient at losing weight. I pulled the plug and ordered the test called weight management kit that runs for $149 and today got the results back. I was very hopeful that my genetic test would show I am of a low carber but it didnt. I did publish the report on my food blog so people can see it. My genetic type was of a balancer diet profile that suggest I do much better on a balanced diet of both carbs and fats. My coworker's test came back as a low carber and they did recommended for her to keep carbs under 50 grams. But for me they suggested to keep it at 50 percent which is way too much. However, to be completely honest, I do do better when I eat a balanced diet and whole grain. When I go low carb I feel sluggish and experience many fatigue symptoms. But low carb works like majic for me when it comes to losing weight and curving my carbs cravings. As part of their test you get a free consultation with a certified genetic specialist and she adamantly suggested I need carbs for my type. So now I am at loss of words, no pun intended! I will however keep my diet somewhat lower carbs and see what happens. But I would love to see you interview this company on your podcast. They were featured on CNN, Good Morning America and many more. I hope you can get them interviewed!
Never heard of them, Vadim. THANKS for sharing!
I usually go to bed around 11PM, Vadim. If I eat before bedtime, then it will be listed on my menu. Lately my last meal has been at around 5:00PM, so I'm going six hours without eating. It's a challenge sometimes, but I'm losing my desire to "munch" at night like I used to. Not drinking diet soda has helped with this, too.
