NOTE: It was incredible feeling well enough to go to church today and I did pretty good considering I've been laid up on my back for a few weeks. But I felt strong, made it through the entire morning without getting fatigued, and it looks like this walking pneumonia is FINALLY behind me. Somebody say WOO HOO!

On the menus front today, I had my usual favorite egg-styled breakfast before heading off to church and then had a solid meal for lunch after church. But I really wasn't hungry the rest of the day. Hmmmm. If I'm not hungry and I didn't have any signs of hypoglycemia happening that would require me to eat--why eat? So I didn't. This definitely served the purpose of keeping my calories at a good level for me (again, not counting them but it's worthy of noting) and satisfying my appetite. Not hungry at all and things are going well for me again. We'll see how that translates to the scale come Friday.

Perhaps since I stopped eating so early in the day I could make it until 1:15PM on Monday afternoon before eating my next meal which would work out as a 24-hour intermittent fast. Of course, if I get hungry I can always eat. But it'll be interesting to see what happens. I've heard people doing well implementing this into their low-carb/Paleo diets and it feels natural when you don't force the issue like making a set time to do it at 6PM or something like that. Allowing your body to guide you seems to be the best way to go and I'm certainly gonna do that.

Because of my illness and all the cough syrup and meds I was taking over the past few weeks, I haven't been measuring my blood sugar levels but I will be resuming that again soon to see what's going on. Maybe measuring during one of my intermittent fasting times would be educational. We'll get that going again soon. THANKS for reading!

Hello Jimmy

Glad to see you are recovering your day to day health after your illnesses.

I find that whenever I go down to under 30 gm carbs per day, I simply have no feeling of breakfast hunger. I take brunch at around 1 p m and evening meal 7.30 to 8 p m. It gives me a fast of 17 to 18 hours.

Y'all take care now.

THANKS LeonRover! That's probably true along with the high-fat content of the meals consumed when you cut those carbohydrates. I'd say what you are doing qualifies as an intermittent fast, too! :)

And we will certainly take care now...ya hear? (By the way, that's not how we talk in South Carolina despite the stereotype).

I had the fortune to spend some time in Houston, Texas, so I adopted it!

Glad you are feeling better. I have just had a long 'seige' with gastro problems which seem much relieved by adding Yogurt to my daily menu. So I get it when someone is sick and needs to change their menu.

You are free to do what you think best for yourself. But I wonder what made you decide to go off the idea you had with the egg fast of having meals at regular times to keep your blood sugar on an even keel? I always thought that diabetics or people sensitive , like you to sugar highs and lows, would need to keep the intake quite regular in regard to timing?
I am not throwing stones, just wondering.

I am having some crazy issues just now myself that is pushing me to think I need to get some blood work done. Always enjoy reading your blog and menus.

THANKS Granny! Sorry to hear about your tummy issues, but hopefully you're feeling better, too.

As for my attempt with this slightly new direction in my menus, it's likely just me trying to get readjusted to eating again. Like I said, I'm not feeling any hypoglycemic effects from eating the way I am and that's a VERY good thing. But I will be monitoring it and eating when I need to eat.

Thank you for your concern. I'm doing GREAT! :D
