NOTE: Christine and I have been back to making some videos for our "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube" channel this week with a series we called "Health Claims Gone Wild!" Basically, we've gone into our local grocery stores, walked up and down the aisles looking for health claims on the front packaging of products that purport to be good for you but are anything but. The food companies are unapologetic for touting the so-called "benefits" of consuming their products while conveniently forgetting to tell the consumer that "healthy" food they are consuming is loaded with things like sugar, flour, and other detrimental carbohydrates. Watch these for yourself and see what you think! We've got a whole lot more of these to come, including a trip to Whole Foods at some point. That'll be interesting.

haha- u guys r sleuthing it up! Your wife is so cute!
I can't believe the govt allows companies to lie to us like that...oh wait, yes i can.
BTW- Inspired by your soda moratorium I have given up all fake sweeteners and LC desserts (which I was having daily). It's been 21 days!!!
WOO HOO! Way to go!
Jimmy,
I just found you and your podcasts, so I am not at all caught up on you...other than the fact, that I love the podcasts. I started in a strange place of them due to some ITUNES download glitches. You are truly an inspiration and congratulations on your weight loss success and your business success. I have been peaking at your menus and would like to offer you a couple of suggestions that may help you get over your plateau. I have been listening to Robb Wolf's Podcast. He says that dairy is very insulin spiking, and I know that you know that, but the least offending seem to be heavy cream and butter, so maybe reduce your cheese content. Also, perhaps getting rid of any artificial foods, including sweetners. He says that for some people even thinking about something sweet can raise insulin!!!! Have you tried adding Fish Oil to your daily supplements. Whole 9 has Robb Wolf's fish oil calculator on there. It is a huge amount, but some studies show that it reduces body inflammation and also can lean you out. The new ME Diet book is very good and provides a great strength training routine and also great HIIT burst training ideas. It is totally doable and low time committment. They have an awesome Facebook page. Sorry if I provided too many of my two cents, but I think what you are doing is awesome and just wanted to give you some information that I have gleaned lately. Best of luck to you and I can't wait to listen to more of your wonderful podcasts! Thank you!!! Deidre
THANKS for popping in, Deidre! I'm glad you enjoy my podcasts. On the dairy issue, I've been discussing this lately here at my menus blog about maybe dropping it for a time to see how it impacts. So that's already on the radar screen. I've eliminated my diet soda consumption this year thanks to my eggfest earlier this year, so that's not an issue anymore. I've interviewed people on my show who have said the same thing about sweet thinking...it's wild, but the body does some strange things. I already take liquid fish oil from Carlson's daily. HIIT is also something I have contemplated adding to my routine. THANK YOU so much for your input and stick around a while. :)
