NOTE: After a week of slightly higher carbs than I would normally consume, the verdict is in on this strategy for trying to shed pounds--it doesn't work for me! My body is super-sensitive to carbohydrates and keeping them limited is just a smart idea. My weight went back up to 257.4 and I'm leaving on the Low-Carb Cruise this weekend and gone all next week. I'll update my menus blog when I return on May 9, 2011 and start back into my normal routine again! SEE YA THEN!

Jimmy,
I am sorry to hear that the extra carbs added back to your diet last week wasn't working out. Bummer. I've tried to add a little extra back into my diet, but it isn't working for me either. I did not intentionally add them in, I finally became aware that I was sneaking them in. Ugh. I am now at the maximum allowable carbs for me to maintain what I have already lost, so now my next tactic is going to be to lower my fat intake just a little bit and increasing my exercise (walking mostly) now that spring is finally here in the Great Northwest! Have a nice time on the cruise.

Jimmy- You may be able to tolerate some carbohydrates, but I suspect that none of us low carbers can tolerate any high estrogen foods such as sweet potato. It is so high in estrogen that my doctors won't let me eat it because I'm estrogen dominant. The big foods that I avoid are sweet potato, carrots and soy. All of them produce instant weight gain and are full of estrogens. Even if its just the soy bean oil (mayo is full of it.)
